This long fire roasting stick is the perfect companion on any camping trip or backyard fire for roasting marshmallows, cooking juicy hotdogs, or whatever else you have in mind!
One of the key features of this fire roasting stick is its ergonomic handle. If you’re going to be holding something for an extended period of time, then the handle needs to be comfortable. Instead of just having you grab square or round metal you have a proper handle that fits comfortably in your hand and feels natural. This is the same handle design I use on my fire pokers because it’s comfortable and gives you a secure hold.
With a length of 36″ you will stay far back from the fire and keep those hands from getting too toasty. You want to cook what’s on the end of the stick, not yourself. The tines are approximately 5″ in length to give you plenty of room to load up on whatever deliciousness you’re cooking over a fire.
Forged from 3/8″ solid steel the fire roasting stick is strong and durable. Despite this, the roasting stick remains relatively light so you aren’t going to wear out your arm using it. You also won’t bend it or break it from use and it’s going to last an extremely long time. Longer than you or I anyway. Also, being solid steel means it will endure the temperatures of the fire without issue. The heat isn’t going to travel up the length to the handle, so your hands will remain cool. If needed you can quench the hot fire roasting stick in water if you need to cool it down for safety and don’t want hot metal laying around.
I first did two of these fire roasting sticks as a commission for someone who was gifting these for Christmas. I had a lot of fun forging them so I decided to add them to my collection of fire tools, which are honestly my favorite things to forge. I love making anything that looks great but more importantly is functional and something you’ll use time and time again.
Twist
Each fire roasting stick has a twist in the center, or no twist if you prefer, that you can choose from so you can match up the perfect twist to your style. Below at the twist options and you can check the images above for reference.
- No Twist – No twist is done to the center of the fire poker and it remains square.
- Plain – A plain twist is the fire poker twisted to give a classic look.
- Veined – This twist is done with all 4 sides chiseled first and then twisted to give a veined look which adds depth.
- Reverse – A reverse twist is like a plain twist only that the twist continues back and forth in opposing directions. It’s kind of mesmerizing.
- Stair – The stair twist is done by chiseling a line on all 4 sides and cutting in cubes on two opposing corners. It’s then twisted to give the look of a spiral staircase.
Personalization
You can have your roasting stick personalized. I can stamp letters, numbers, ampersands, dashes, underscores, and periods. This will be placed near the handle along the shaft of the roasting stick.

In addition to running the business well, Tony is also a great artisan! After years of fiddling around the campfire with various cheap roasting sticks, I decided to pay for quality – and Tony delivered. Now I look forward to roasting marshmallows and hotdogs over the fire – and I look forward to passing these on to my kids when my campfire days are behind me.

This is what I love to hear and why I forge what I forge. Thank you.
