Tabletop Tapered Candle Holder

I find beauty in simplicity and that was my goal with this tabletop tapered candle holder. Wanting to create something with a modern aesthetic and a touch of rustic I came up with this uncomplicated design. As a result this will look wonderful in any setting you place it in. Whether you have a farmhouse or an upscale townhouse the design will fit right in with any decor.

A wide base ensures that the tabletop tapered candle holder is steady and not prone to being tipped over. The weight of the 1/4″ steel base keeps the tapered candle holder grounded so it’s not top heavy. Additionally, the extra width around the stem that holds the candle will keep the dripping wax off whatever surface you set it on. Designed to fit your standard 7/8″ tapered candle.

This tabletop candle holder is hand-forged from solid steel. This isn’t a thin, flimsy product you have to be careful with but an heirloom piece that’s going to last forever. There is a traditional wax finish on the steel to protect it, blacken it, and give it a shine. While the wax is perfect protection for indoor use it’s not intended to be exposed to outside weather. You can of course use this outside but don’t leave it out so it’s exposed to rain, snow, etc.

As a blacksmith I love using traditional joinery in my work. Which is to say I don’t use electric welding to combine pieces of steel together. With this tabletop candle holder it is joined with a tenon. The top stem piece passes through the base and then secured with heat and the impossibly strong friction fit of a set tenon. You won’t find any ugly welds on this piece but old fashioned traditional blacksmith joinery.
