This small hook is forged from 1/4″ solid steel. Despite it’s size of 3″ tall by 1.5″ deep it’s quite capable of handling a lot of weight. That’s the quality of hand-forged: strength and durability. Everything I make is made for a lifetime and this is no exception.
The end of the hook tapers thinner and ends in a decorative volute. Not only decorative, the volute will ensure the hook does not snag any clothing you hang from it. A simple circle creates the mounting area that draws the eye. A very simple design to create an affordable handmade hook that you’ll enjoy forever.
Affordability was my goal with this small hook. I want people to be able to see the value in something that’s hand-forged by a real blacksmith. While it remains a lost art, blacksmithing is not forgotten by those of us who choose to create products that endure the test of time. In a society of disposable products some of us want to hold on to the craftsmanship of the past and put those items in your hands.
A matching screw is provided with the hook and you can choose the size of the screw to suit your needs. If you’re going straight into wood, then the 3/4″ length is perfect. If you’re going through drywall in your home and screwing into a stud, then I would recommend the 1 1/4″ screw. I do offer some other options as well to suit your particular needs.
The small hook is finished with a wax making it suitable for inside use. While the wax does give a protective coating it’s not meant for outside use and prolonged exposure to moisture.
