I do custom blacksmith work. If you’re after something specific, then we can work together to create a design and forge exactly what you’re looking for. No job is too small either. I’ve literally forged a crotchet hook for someone and I’ve also done a large sign hanger, which you’ll see pictures of below. I’ve also done large quantities for clients too like someone who needed 103 cabinet knobs and 56 cabinet pulls. I’m always looking for fun and challenging custom blacksmith work to do. It’s really the kind of thing we blacksmiths live for.
Example of Custom Blacksmith Work
Below is a great example of custom work I’ve done. This is a sign hanger I did for a local small business. The business is in the same town I am and she had a local artist make the sign for her. I was then contacted to make the sign hanger for the sign to attach to a granite post. Everything with this sign hanger was done by hand. I then went over, did the install, and below is the result.
The various components of the sign hanger are attached to one another with rivets and there’s also one collar. This is a traditional blacksmith approach and how it would have been done hundreds of years ago. I’m not much of a welder but at the same time I don’t like the look of metal welded together. Sometimes there’s no way around it and you have to use modern welding, however, in any other situation I will use traditional joinery to keep a piece looking rustic and authentic.

Things I Don’t Forge
Things I do not forge include but are not limited to:
- Railings
- Fences or Fence Gates
- Swords
- Knives
- Axes
- Horse Shoes
I do not have the tools required for certain large projects and I’m also not a bladesmith. My interest has always been in functional everyday items and that’s what I enjoy forging and in turn offer for custom work.
